More Halloween Garden Decorations

We hadn't even actually gotten out of the house yet.  Mom was doing some research on Halloween books for my brother Michael's blog, and she found two more Halloween garden decorations that we loved on Amazon. We're still supposed to go to the stores to look today, but Dad and my brother are watching their show "The Doctor" right now, so Mom and I decided to write this post while we wait for them.   Dad says I'm still too young for this show.

The first thing we found was this cool skeleton holding a lantern. This Sinister Skull With Lantern Halloween Party Decoration is reasonably priced, and made from polyresin, so it will not get hurt by any rain. The lantern needs two AA batteries.  We have rechargeable batteries because so many of our toys take batteries.

The first review is a video, and when the person in the video had the piece against his hand for scale, Mom said it looked smaller than the picture led her to believe. As we read the reviews, one reviewer did confirm that it was pretty small at around 3/4 human size.

It mostly has good reviews, with one 3star review, and one 1 star review, for an average of 4.5 stars.  The three star review was disappointed with the size, and the 1 star review was also disappointed with the size, but so much so that in spite of it being her only complaint, she only gave it 1 star.

The 1 star reviewer said not to expect to use it in your yard, which is our plan.  However, other reviewers state that they did put it in their yard and loved, so Mom said this is going in the 'maybe' pile for now, and we'll decided after we do our shopping here in town.

I don't know much about skeletons.  They aren't really monsters or zombies.
I asked mom what it was and she said she really didn't know either, but it reminded her of Pirates of the Caribbean.  Mom loves pirates as much as she loves Halloween.

Mom said that years ago, before my brother or me was ever born, she built a haunted pirate ship decoration, but she wasn't sure she could remember how to do it even if she had the time, which she doesn't.  So she searched Amazon and found this Animated Airblown Skeleton Pirate Shipwreck.  Mom is not a big fan of inflatable decorations, and she likes scary, not kiddy... but we love this and were going to try to talk her into it.  Luckily for us, we have Dad on our side on this one.  It's rare, but it does happen.

It only has one review, and it's a 1 star review.  According to the reviewer, it's poorly made, and that he or she couldn't keep it inflated.  Mom said it may have had a leak, and that sometimes those things happen.  The reviewer didn't say if he or she even checked for a leak first and the repair kits for leaks are cheapy and simple, so Mom said she wouldn't let that bother her.  But she still is not a fan of inflatables, so we'll have to see if we'll get this.

One Halloween character we did not have is The Grim Reaper And Amazon offers the most reasonable price Mom has ever seen on a life sized, Halloween yard monster.  Dad said that if Mom could remember how to build the Pirate ship that he would dig trenches to create 'The River Styx.' Dad said he would use a heavy plastic to line the trench so that it would hold water, and 'line' our man made river with a bag of bones .
